OK, so they make a plan for a gun in 3D and it can be d/loaded off the .net......so the cat's meow is now outta the bag.....

NOW, so if I had a set of them plans......just what in hell do I expect to do next?? find some sort of fancy milling machine to follow the 'plans'/program toss a chunk of brand X plastic in it and run the program??

any machine shop willing to do it?? doubtful, IMO

I look at the sheer SIZE of them on TV news flashes, and they seem very large/bulky/hard to hide....how in hell can they be missed by modern airport scanners???

SO just where is the large uproar?? except for poly-ticks ......:issues:

seems like a novelty more than anything, and I don't see the guns being safe or operable after a few rounds, considering they are made fully of molded plastic.

I doubt you'll see the local thug sticking up liquor stores with these.

Why would they?
I heard it's easier to get a gun than a book.

just get an 80% kit. simpler, cheaper, better end result.

It is far cheaper to illegally buy a gun on the street than go to the expense (money and time) to obtain a 3D printer, learn how to use it and then create a firearm of dubious reliability.

I get a kick out of the people claiming that terrorists will take these “undiscoverable” weapons on planes. Last I saw, ammunition is still made of metal and people are routinely busted for a single stray round in a carry on bag

if you know what you are doing, you can make a one shot shotgun from parts available in the plumbing dept at homey depot. it'll be made out of metal. it'll go bang.

not if it's a one shot pistol made out of plastic completely.

Until someone figures out how to make the striker or firing pin spring and the trigger and hammer springs out of plastic there's still significant metal in any "plastic" homebrew. The media is full of it when it spouts how undetectable these things are... it only requires a different search pattern. Never mind the fact that your pictured weapon is three or more times as large as a conventional single shot and would be quite a challenge to conceal in your pants or under a tee shirt.
