Dad also made sure I took this home with me. Nothing special but I've been wanting a .45.
Springfield Arms XD .45 ACP. I believe first gen.
Dad and I both are gun nuts but he owned more than me. He would tease me that having less than 5 guns disqualified me from the nut club. Now he made sure I was in the club.

Nice, I have a XDs45. Thats what I call my city gun, for just quick around my rural area I have a little Ruger LCR.38 in a Desantis pocket holster.
I've had my XD40 for quite awhile and have been very happy with it. For some reason the slab side grips suit my hands well. Never a jam or misload.

I'm not too familiar with the XD series - s, m, etc. Not sure what the difference is.
The gun is exactly the same width as my Beretta PX4 subcompact .40 (also a double stack 10+ 1)) but the grip is longer (13 + 1). Dad used a Galco OWB holster with the FBI cant. It conceals quite well with appendix carry.
The slab issue will take some getting used to for me. One thing I like about Beretta is the rounded grip. My PX4 has replaceable grips with different diameters to customize. But not quite as concealable as a flat weapon.
I'd really like to get a Ruger LC9. My wife has one and it's super concealable. Here's came with the crimson trace laser

In my case the XDs has a shorter more concealable grip. That and a couple longer mags makes a good carry package.
Just remember in the peoples republic of NY we are limited to no more than 10 round mags. The infamous "Safe Act''! No restrictions for the criminals though!
