Holy shit. They told me this would be "just an outpatient procedure" - they lied again. I got a big 'ol mesh patch (please no horror stories) via lapro and I'm hammered. I can't sit up and can barely walk.
I also have a damn balloon cath and a ****ing piss bag for the next 10 days. That WAS NOT in the brochure. I guess my urethra was scarred up to a pin hole from a previous bout with a jagged kidney stone they removed 30 years ago. The scar just built up over the years.
Apparently much of my 24/7 pain might have been my bladder not emptying fully. The cath should open that up but holy shit WTF.
I'm also whacked out on drugs so I have that going for me. :hurray:
Hoping to be back on my feet by Monday and be ready to hit the show by August 10.
Wow this sucks. Rough two weeks. But maybe progress! We shall see.

All the best to you, Harvey. :cert:
I wore one of those bags for a few weeks during a kidney stone adventure ~20 years ago. Ureter was blocked with the stone, and the 1st round of ultrasound blasting did nothing, so I needed the bag mod until the next round of ultrasound. The tube was in my back though, & no real discomfort. Annoying, but I got used to it pretty quickly.
Good luck! :seasix:

Day two. I think the worst thing is this tube up my dick hole. It doesn't hurt too much but super uncomfortable and a hassle. I can't see having it 10 days.
Probably be another day on my back. (that's what she said)

You are not misspelling enough words to be really stoned. Double up and have some Bourbon! Just remember though, I'm an aircraft mechanic, not a Doctor, so heed my advice with caution!:yesnod::shots:

It is day 5. Still have foley cath. It won’t be removed until Thursday. Belly is swollen but not too sore. I’ve been icing it but it doesn’t seem to matter. Pain from cath is reduced thanks to some lidocaine gel. That is really the worst part. Removing it will be a true test of my mettle. That day can’t come soon enough.
The pain is so distracting but somehow I need to be very productive next week. Very hard to walk because every movement tweaks that cath. Yet I’m supposed to walk to avoid blood clots.
5 more days to go.

Make sure they deflate the balloon before they remove the catheter!
(Thinking of a scene in the Nurse Jackie series...)

I think I’m pretty tough but this is really wearing on me. Three more days. Then likely a week before it doesn’t feel like pissing razor blades. That’s what it was like 30 years ago after they removed a hella big kidney stone, which, incidentally, caused the problem now.
Utterly exhausting. I was in so much pain earlier today my top lip was sweating. I can’t take pain meds other than Tramadol which is the lamest painkiller of them all.
