I was going to buy some speakers in California near La. but when I called UPS or FED EX they want 2600.00 to ship them. It would have been 4 boxes 2@150 Lbs and 2@ 100 Lbs 500 total. They are out of their minds. Any suggestions on who to use for future reference.
Jeff is going there next week. Maybe he can bring them back for you?

If you buy a thousand speakers - you will get a better rate. :fastguy:

Yes...and have an account with them. Some companies get up to 70 % discount

That is crazy high.
I had 2 speakers at 330# each shipped halfway across the country for $450 and that included insurance for $25k
I'd have to dig up who I used if that would help but there are a lot of freight companies out there. Just be sure to use reputable ones and specify liftgate service for any residential deliveries.

You need an LTL or go with one of this cast https://www.aetv.com/shows/shipping-wars/cast personally I'd go with Robbie! :D

ScottThe tweeters looked similar to the Infinity EMIT's hence the reason for my guess. Sharp looking speakers!

Back in the 60s a flight attendant told me the previous day a uniformed military passenger brought a duffel bag on board with a four speed transmission in it and put it in the overhead bin.

Wanted a pair of Legacy speakers for many years. I jumped on these when listed as part of an estate sale.
Listening to music on them is an awesome way to escape for a bit.
Sold them a few months back to get the next step up in their line; the Aeris.
We always have music on in the house and spend a lot of time playing it for the kids.
We often let the kids choose something while we're cooking dinner.

Surprisingly they are very efficient. They are tested to be 95 dB sensitivity; which means with 1W of power, they produce 95 dB at 1M distance.
You can drive these with a little integrated receiver although the sound would be limited in terms of dynamics, headroom, stage, etc
They each have built in dual 500W ICE amps that handle the low notes (<300 Hz)
Customer only needs to provide an amp that drives the mids and highs.
I go back and forth between several amps depending on what music I'm listening to.

The speaker itself is really cool. The designer put the crossover network in sight and is easily serviceable/upgrade-able.

They utilize a DSP that does room correction algorithms to ensure the entire frequency spectrum is broadcast at the same time (phase).
This makes all the difference in sonics and allows you to hear every instrument clearly and even hear "where" each player is in the stage in front of you.
The entire wall between speakers plays music and you'd swear a center speaker was on in the mix. Cool stuff; psychoacoustics and things beyond my paygrade.

If there is a Fastenal near both the point of origin and your place, they will include your shipments in with theirs for a very reasonable fee. A friend of mine had an arcade game shipped for around $150.00. It has to be palletized.
Update: From Wisconsin to Houston - $185.00

That's what they are, but they guy who posted it says they also offer freight. I'm guessing they just piggy back off of their existing national distribution channel. If they are already going somewhere with LTL freight, why not take on a few more packages for incremental revenue?
Edit: Yep, he (and my theory) were right:

Tung Sol KT 120s and yes to the push/pull config.
Also has a nice selector switch that allows user to choose "distortion" levels so it can sound like an old school tube amp or closer to SS.

Tube amps from daze ago had more harmonica distortion, so sounded more 'musical' lending an 'air' to the performance.....but SS amps were mor technically correct......a switch to change that around....interesting, love to see the schematic on that amp......
