What's more expensive? The F1 tickets, or the flights to get there?

David -
I suggest getting a couple good masks to cover your mouth and nose while over there. The air quality is horrible and with the added race cars kicking up the dust and crap on the roads, you need to take precaution so you don;'t get sick while on vacation.
Also - I usually have my doc get me a prescription of antibiotics to take with me (just in case). I like Cipro since it is super-strong and foreign bugs can be pretty dang miserable.
Take lots of pics and have fun....so much good food over there. Are you flying through Hong Kong or Seoul?

Wouldn't be my choice for location but seeing an F1 race in person would be very cool.
Where are you staying in Shanghai? Great town. I had tickets once for the race a few years back and had to change plans.
Have a great time.

Plane tickets by a long shot. I bought race tix on the back straight so that probably saved some coin.

Rob, thanks for the great advice! Flying direct into Pudong airport in Shanghai from San Francisco.

We are visiting friends in Shanghai, so that decided it for me :)

From practice and qualifying. Oh wow, was qualifying amazing! The weather was brutal Saturday. About 50 degrees and winds 15-20. Cold, cold, cold! Let's hope today is better! Go Kimi!

Quite to my dismay, not even close ;(. But I'm only 5'8.

Very cool! Enjoy! I went to the first ones when they came back to Indy around 2000/2001? Practice and qualifying were more enjoyable due to less people. We could walk almost anywhere to watch the cars including the infield.
