The temps have been such that the snow on the grass and buildings around here just won't melt.
I hate the cold :wtf:

For the first time in NASCAR history, the race is snowed out today.

I’m out of the loop as I was just wondering what happened to the race this week

Had snow on the grass here this morning. A couple of inches of it. 50 degrees now.

Check out the shadow of the roof line.
Along the shadow are lines.
Can you guess what they are?
As the sun gets higher in the sky, day after day, the melt lines form.
There are actually 5 lines there from different days that the sun was out.
This snow has been there for two weeks now.
I'm still waiting for the rest of it to fall off the metal roof, but the freeze/thaw cycle just has not allowed it.

It's been colder than usual this time of the year here too. We've all been bitching about it on the golf course. Today we still played yet it was around 45 degrees when we started and sprinkling. Later it got pretty nice, like the last four holes. Ended up a gorgeous day. But anyway, it's been cold here too. Just not that cold. You're insane for living there! LOL

Like 15 minutes per year. You guys have 4 months of ice.

4 months of slooooowwww ice. 15 minutes of “where does the GM app say our car is ?”

15 minutes, per year, where you say “Could be our time.” But then it blows past and you breathe a sigh of relief, and that’s more or less it. Tradeoff vs cold or whatever. CAPTAIN CHAOS!

Down here on the Gulf Coast, we worry about hurricanes and flooding. The insidious thing about those events is, you spend few days watching and worrying, before finding out at the last minute if it's your turn in the barrel.

I'd say it's almost better to have no warning, because how do you plan for a hurricane that can and usually does change course at the very last minute?

During Rita, hundreds of thousands of Houstonians were stuck on freeways fleeing town, a few even died, and all for a storm that didn't even hit us.

Totally enjoying 70 degree weather, even more so reading that others are miserable in snow. I'm a bit sadistic, I guess. :D I'll doubtless be singing a different song when the tornados sweep through the trailer parks and the temps are 120 degrees, but for now, I am king.

Tomorrow appears to be 76°F, 22% humidity, and clear skies. Good afternoon to get out on the trails.

* Winds...Santa Ana Mts northeast 20 to 30 MPH with gusts to 55
mph. Below the Cajon Pass and the Orange County coastal
plain...northeast 15 to 30 MPH with local gusts 45 to 50 MPH at
times.

Sounds like fun. Have a blast. Who doesn't like to get blown on a warm sunny day? :cert:

:D

Winds out of the northeast at 10-15 mph here. It was breezy today but not enough to knock over a lawn chair or other major catastrophe.
