KSU Invitational update.

Kennesaw State holds a mini competition every year for teams around the area. The team spent the past week prepping both 48, the car we're taking to Michigan this year, and 25, the car that competed in 2015. We had a lot of really late nights powered by some serious caffeine and made a lot of headway. We ran out of time to finish assembling 48 this morning but got 25 tuned and ready to go. Had some really good looking practice runs with 25, considering it's a 3 year old car. Started having issues at the start of the skidpad event and you could see a big puff of smoke come out of the engine from the viewing area. Turns out we threw a rod. Guess four year old motorcycle engines can only take so much of a beating. (or maybe it's just the Wiz fam engine curse :willy: ). We'll keep pushing through with rebuilding and prepping 48 next week for Michigan. More pics and vids to come!15124

I am sorry to hear that, thank you for keeping us in the loop. However, I am thinking this is just a small bump in the road for you all. :seasix:

It's better that this car failed rather than the current one. If we keep up the impressive work ethic we had over the past week, we'll be very prepared for Michigan!

In racing, if you're not breaking some parts sometimes, you're not trying hard enough.:yesnod:

I read and then reread this thread.....you refer to a 4 y/o motorcycle engine, then refer to a CAR being disabled.....I assume you mean a Miata engine blew, and from the pix, it does look like it's in a bike.....

:confused5:The GTMS formula car runs a Honda CBR600RR motorcycle engine. Baymax didn't blow another engine. He's in good shape. I'm running off 2 hours of sleep so I probably messed something up somewhere :leaving:

Wait, I thought money grew on trees. Speaking of which, I need to go pick some off of the tree out back when I get home. :D

That was my thought, keeping rods inside the block is tough for you two.

Best of luck getting 48 finished up, better to blow up the old car and still have the new one waiting than the other way around

EH, yawl jest minor league, when you blow an engine, it has to measure on the Richter Scale....as in shake the ground, make the crowd gasp for air for over 2 minits......

only ONE group can do that......TOP FUEL......

Yeah, well, I think Utah has both of you beat in the destruction derby.
Now, If you could blow an engine in a fast food drive through, resulting in it burning to the waterline...
I wonder if he ever got it rebuilt...
