Another of my good friends passed away a few weeks ago. They had his memorial service today at the Country Club building where I used to live. It was his hang out, and he tended bar there part time after retiring from a career as a California Department of Forestry firefighter and administrator. He and I tended bar there on New Year's Eve '99-'00. We also made the 200 mile round trip to the auto auctions in Sacramento dozens of times to drive cars back for local dealers.
The guy didn't have an enemy in the world, and had a great and active sense of humor. He was 78 and died of complications following surgery for a brain tumor.
There were over 100 people there and many entertaining and funny stories were told. Far more laughter than tears, as would be appropriate for him. His name was Dave, raise a glass to him if you get a chance.:seasix:
