On my way from PA to NH to get my son. My F250 broke down. :( Threw the serpentine belt as the tensioner was all chewed up. :( :banghead:

Is that your plow truck? Did you have to get towed?

Luckily you only have 2 more issues to contend with, as things usually happen in 3's....
Is it cold there?

At least those are easy fixes. I can guarantee the tensioner was making a racket you ignored, didn’t it ? :funnier:

had that happen to me twice in one month last summer in two different chevy trucks. first in my s-10 about 50 miles from home, lees than a month later in my full size truck. both time the tensioner locked up and broke the belt. both times I was in sight of a parts store to get parts to fix.

I've changed out three tensioners on my chevy trucks and they always gave me lots of warning by screeching for about a week before I changed them. Never had one fail. The darn belts that you chew up are worth more than the tensioner. Very easy change and about 20 bucks.

I've got it down to about 9 bucks by pressing out the bearing myself instead of buying the whole unit.

Yup, something was making noise under the hood, and I ignored it. Sounded like a heat shield.

Stopped at the rest area just to the north of Bennington Vermont. Got back in the truck and as I was leaving the lot, I lost the power steering. So, I went in to town, to the Mobil station and bought some power steering fluid. Reservoir was full. Got in the truck and headed east. The instrument panel lit up with the message "Check Gauges". Everything looked good but the temp. The needle was pointing straight up on H. Crap.

Pulled into a truck chain up area, just before the mountain. In that area, cell reception was not available, but I was able to call 911 to get help. Tow truck showed up after 40 minutes or so. After putting my truck on the hook, the driver called a local garage to see if they could fix it. At the garage, as soon as the my truck was off the hook, it was wheeled into the garage. As they were shutting the door, the guy with the parts showed up. 20 minutes later, I was back on the road, and my wallet was $325 lighter.

Truck is running fine, no major damage was done, luckily. All the fluids were where they were supposed to be.

Could have been a lot worse. :yesnod:

Actually, you didn't do that bad. Especially for the area of the country you are in. I imagine the shops are pretty busy during the harsh weather.

I was thinking that I'd have to rent a car and leave the truck at a shop for a few days. Or find a stealership and trade it in for some other POS. Et cetera.

Damn, the only other thing you need now is the infamous Ford front end issues. :issues:

Our 2017 Expedition was unable to turn over Monday morning. WTF?! Nearly brand new truck and it's dead?

After a jump it's been just fine. Sheitty battery I'd guess.
Temps were in the single digits but it gets driven every day. :slap:

Did it pull wires out when the other belt let loose?

Did it pull wires out when the other belt let loose?

Everything looks OK. The lights on the plow work, the hydraulic pump is trying to work. So there is power going to it. The 3 pin connector might be the culprit. Will look into that tomorrow.
