bad enough that you have to look at a brick wall, but now it's covered with a painting of a large, red, pecker.

Thankfully it's Chinatown or that thing would be three stories taller.

Or...

This one came about after a neighbor complained about a construction project that had a code violation of some sort. In retaliation the guy building the house made a slight modification to his windows that just so happened to fall within a strict interpretation of the code's compliance.
years ago, in MD, downtown historic Gaithersburg, they had strict codes for colors you could paint your house. a local realtor owned a house so affected. well, she wanted to paint it a light shade of yellow. pretty color. but....that color was not on the approved color list. well, what colors were? red, white, and blue were ok.
yep, she painted the horizontal siding alternating bands of red, white, and blue. it looked hideous. it stayed that way for years until the city fathers relented. and then she painted it the pretty yellow she wanted in the first place. :slap:

She beat them about the head and shoulders with their own stupid rules. Good for her.
had a neighbor that also owned a rental house in that same historic district. had painted wood siding. that of course rotted over time. so he went to replace it. and they would not permit either aluminum siding, vinyl siding, or even painted hardi-board siding (concrete, won't rot, lasts forever). nope, put up some more wood that will rot again in 20 years. :slap:
Dare we ask what you were searching for when you found giant penis?
and it's gone.
painted over.
