One of those hydro choppers crashed here a couple days ago.....all four crew didn't make it....:sadangel:
Very skilled people but you can't tell when your equipment is going to fail you. :sad:

Canadian power companies are often named "BC HYDRO", Ontario Hydro etc. in the cozy thought that they are harnessing renewable river stream water.
That gets further abbreviated to simply "hydro". I knew this previously living in Canada, but it was kind of comical (or just plain idiotic) when Canadians would call me at my former employment (Puget Sound Energy) asking for "Hydro to get hooked up" to their vacation properties in the USA. (Especially idiotic considering most of my Canadian friends are compelled to lecture me on how provincial the Americans are).
A power line helicopter working for Ontario Hydro crashed a few days ago.

They like to hire military pilots due to their previous experience with "tight quarters".
I watched an interview with one of those pilots and he was asked about flying close to energized high tension power lines.
He replied how this was easy since nobody was shooting at him. :seasix:
