Overly developed to an almost ridiculous extreme.

"Is she well built? She certainly is! She's built like a brick shit-house."

My point is, just because you haven't heard the phrase before doesn't mean that it's a stupid phrase, or a made-up one. "Built like a brick shithouse" has been around since the 1940s; and don't think because it's old that it's not well thought out. If you owned an out-house back then and it was built out of brick, then it was better-built that your house.

A lot of thought went into that phrase to capture the contradiction of it, probably more subtlety and dry humor than in most of today's pornography disguised as wit. I urge you to watch some early comedy to see just how clever and sophisticated it is.

I've always taken it to mean a curvy figure. As in when you are building an outhouse out of brick, you are likely to not take the time and effort to make sure everything about the structure is straight and plumb.

Back in the day, a brick shithouse was considered beautiful, and desirable.

I have always taken it to mean high class and solid/firm as opposed to rickety drafty wooden ones.

I always took that phrase to mean "well put together". :yesnod:

Of course that means different types to different guys. :island14:

Actually....I've never even seen a brick shithouse, since most outhouses are meant to be moved to a new pit every so often. Moving a brick one would be pretty hard. :flush:
