Ellis family "World's Greatest Drag Race" is tomorrow.

2 of our 7 cars are already at the track, GWiz is home, cameras are charging, drivers are in place, but we're still recruiting some camera operators. I bought a Sony AX53 4K video camera to do most of the heavy lifting. We've already marked out the track where the start and finish will be with safe braking distances. Should be fun. Just got back to house, downloading some videos from a friend's camera. Have to go back to the track to move the equipment and pick up the race car. I think the footage will be great. Dear GOD does it take me to nearly 80 mph before I hook up and then the Z06 is GONE. :rofl:

Notice how far ahead GWiz is in the Black Z. I never hook up until close to 80 mph, and then I'm gone. I'll upload the side view of the finish line soon. :seasix:

Would have to easily be in the 10's on DR's. When you spin the wheels to the 1/8th mile, it's hard to have a fast trap speed.

When you hear me shift, I never hooked up until 3rd gear. When I went into 4th, which the black '09 doesn't need for 1/4 mile, it just lights up at the end. We had a blast yesterday, and that's the first weekend I didn't work a single hour since August 1st. I needed that big time. :yesnod:

I just timed it, it took me a full 10 seconds to catch the '09. :rofl:

'09 is stock with 505 hp, 470 tq at the crank and weighs 3200 pounds and has stock 3.42 gears.
'08 race car has 685 hp, 633 tq at the crank and weighs 2950 pounds and has 3.73 gears.


'09 had brand new Hankook tires on, so had excellent off the line grip.
