Roofers did the carport between rain last week, sunshine this week so on with the rest of it

Going to install (2) Velux solar tubes. I already installed the parts in the ceiling just waiting to poke holes in the roof :D

Metal roofing for this house would be about 3500 bux, here in Fl......

all cut to fit the pattern/measure.....estimates run near 20 grand.....

shingles run about 10 grand....shingles are cheaper than metal....

so go figger.....4 guys working, not standing around....120/day each 3 daze call it 2 grand for labor....2 grand for the company overhead.....either way the price of the roof should be less than 8 grand....

:issues:

Got it down to $9k, which is as good as it gets in these parts.
Lot more than the $615 I paid the other 4 guys to install with me back in the day :D
GAF Timberline HD, 110' of ridge vent, plug my 3 whirlybirds and install the roof portion of my 2 solar tubes and take all debris away.
Other bids from best price of $13.5K to $28K..........lifetime this lifetime that etc :confused5: I told one guy I didn't ask for a metal roof!:D
These will work just fine for the rest of my life. I go on the roof once a year, the key to shingle life sans wind/hail storms

Just got my 20-year-old roof replaced this fall. It had numerous instances of hail damage. Insurance paid for all of it, about $15k. Also new gutters and window screens were covered. Got Owens Corning TrueDefinition Duration shingles this time, the old ones were Tamko. 30 year warranty. Also my homeowners insurance dropped quite a bit, about $800/year.

It's just the look of the shingles, no waves on my roof:) My insurance is suppose to go down as well, they have been asking about it for years
