This New Pup Is Running Me Ragged

I'm crating it and going out for some drinks & wings.
Liz went to NYC for the w/e and made me babysit our 14 week old miniature schnauzer, Maddie.
Man, what a workout !

No accident when I was gone, I have a healthy buzz on, and dinner for Maddie in an hour.

Well I stopped the love bites and nipping in the bud.
A few lovingly well places bites back, and she's tame as a church mouse.
What a great dog. Minis are so smart.
Hopefully she'll be the Jeopardy Champion one day.:shots:

If you laugh when an animal does something ( whether right or wrong), they will associate that with proper behaviour.

You MUST stop it early ( which you are ) before it becomes ingrained :yesnod:

Minis are smart. Yappy and stubborn. Easy to train. What you MUST watch out for : Teeth. Most minis will lose their front teeth unless you brush them every day. Skin : Most will have Schnauzer dandruff. Buy the medicated shampoo. Grooming: Minis MUST be groomed and brushed every day. Their hair is so fine it will matt easily.

I love mini Schnauzers. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

This is our third. We love them too and yes, they are really smart. Maddie is pretty much potty trained at this point.
Our first two weren't yappy, just vigilant. We had no problem with either of their teeth either. Dandruff? I found only if they are shaved too short will they get it, but we always use good shampoo. :yesnod:
We used to get ours to the groomed every 3 months, but I got really good at the schnauzer cut, so I do it now.
