Odds are yours are recalled too.
It's really easy.
Just click the recall link, enter your info, your model # , the serial #, and you'll get a confirmation page stating the new one(s) will arrive in around 2 weeks..
There are some models of smoke detectors being recalled too.

Filed on 11/2 & got a claim number for three extinguishers. Called end of last month to inquire.

Calling the recall number (855.271.0733) got "We cannot look up claim. Call Customer Service". He did give me the phone number.
Calling Cust Serv (800.880.6788) got -- long wait -- "We can't look up claim. They should ship within 10-15 days of filing".

Today has been 24 business days. Has anyone heard anything?

Don't know how I missed this the first time but I have one of the affected. Just filled out the claim, says it should ship within 10-15 days. We'll see. :seasix:

Try out one of the old ones to see if it actually works. Might want to do that outside, though.

Thanks for the info. Two of my five were affected by the recall and they told me they should ship in 20-25 business days.

Wooden I no, I new I had a kiddy in the vette finally pulled it for a glance, rong handle shape and nun of the #s line up.....figgers....it has had one shot out of it over the years....but the gauge is in the red, but not gone anywhere for LONG time now, and plenty of stuff shakes around....it's white can and meant for car fires.....:dance:

Best bet, nothing but a couple letters/phone calls asking for it, then write it off. Cost too much to really do.

I'm thinking that , by law, they have to ask for it back, but in reality, they don't care if you send it, as they have to pay for every one that is shipped back and pay personnel to process them.

The link Norm posted says 37.8 million units recalled, so I'd bet there is a big backlog. :yesnod:

Still can't beat free though, my affected extinguisher is over 20 years old. :leaving:

Another update. I filled out a new form for my sister's recalled extinguisher last Friday (1-12-18) & got it's replacement today. One week turnaround. :seasix:
