Grey and gray are two different spellings of the same word. Gray is more common in the U.S., while grey is more common in other English-speaking Countries. Think Earl Grey Tea.

Earl Grey isn't referring to the colour though.....it's the Earl's name. bad example but correct in that grey is used all over the world and gray is prevalent in the States.

Let me ask you guys this: I have a 1956 Thunderbird. On the factory invoice and on the data plate decoder, it's listed as "Thunderbird Grey" in color. This car was of course designed and built in the U.S.A. Here's a link to a data plate decoder; Thunderbird Grey is in the second image, Color Code "P":
Classic Thunderbird Data Plate Decoder (http://www.tbird.org/DataPlate/cdata.htm)
Also notice that a similar color is listed for the 1957 model as a "Gray". What do you make of this?
