Bummer I never got a chance to see them while in my 20's.

The crash site is only about 80 miles from my home. Rescue personnel said that the crash scene was the goriest and bloodiest they had ever seen. May the victims RIP.

I've been lucky enough to see Lynard Skynard a few times, but the original band put on a much better show than the current members. The current members blow hot and cold and tend to ad lib the music too much. Not sure if ad lib is the word I need to use, maybe free-style is better.

I got to see Lynard Skynard 3 times before the crash. I also saw The Rossington Collins Band and Lynard Skynard with Ronnie brother singing several times. I agree the original band was better than the current band. A sad day in music.:sadangel:

I saw the band once before the crash at a Day On The Green concert at Oakland. Great show, even though I was not a big southern rock fan at the time.

Oh, I came to like it over the years. I still have that LS album on 8-Track. It was just not real popular in the SF Bay Area in the earlier years, and I had not heard much of it. My favorite were the Dixie Dregs. Saw them live in a big bar that held less than 1,000 people. Steve Morse is one of the best guitarists ever.

I wish that I could have seen Skynyrd .
I see a video like the one at Knebworth, and then see the videos of the pseudo Skynyrd that has been touring for the last 20 years, and think that they are nothing more than a cover band.
There is no comparison.

I’m too young to have seen them live before the crash but I sure do appreciate their music and the band that they were. I’ve passed on a few opportunities to see the new versions over the years as it would just not be the same
