The actual word "chief" originated in the 14th century, meaning leader or
chieftan of the various klans and tribes of Europe. Nothing to do with the
North American people at the time. It was a viable and normal title and
was then expanded to include North American Indian leaders when Europeans
settled here. It was NOT a part of any Indian language. European genesis.

There are morons running around inflaming other morons to agitate and disrupt
our culture. :issues:

The word/title of chief goes back way past Native Americans....back to early man in fact. Early human settlers in the British Isles all had chieftains of their clan..... Stupid pc bullshit.

My great uncle was a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force, they'd love that.
