I verified this with my local dealer.

What's the point? Is the ZR1 going to be a 2019 model, but they want to start selling it sooner?

I wonder what will be displayed in the Chevrolet booth at the North American International Auto Show this year...

Does it matter? Really?

My guess is that GM will offer a different automatic transmission, or upgrade to the current A8. This is the one black eye currently with the C7 (and it's actually the torque converter and not the A8 that has the problem). But whenever the "issue" is mentioned, people say "with the A8"... lumping the two together.

My guess is that
That also makes it 10 years since the C6 ZR1. Just like I'm expecting a 2018 Supra, 20 years after the last one that was sold in the US.

I just read this was the problem (still speculation though), the C7 ZR1 was delayed... and too late to crowbar into the 2018 model year. GM needs it to be available to recoup costs, so the entire model run (all models) will be 2019 models.

Whenever they've done this in the past it meant a totally new model like in 83....maybe they're introducing a mid engine afterall.

I can say one thing I've owned corvettes since I was 20. I've probably owned 25 to 30 of them all years and several at one time. I've become bored with them. When I get rid of my 2016 Z-06 I think I'm done with vetts for a long while. I'm waiting for a Demon Charger or Demon Ram truck... :kick:

Doubt you'll see a Demon Charger or RAM. The Demon is purpose built for the drag strip.

Definitely one of the reasons I’ll be there the first night!

Probably introduce the ZR1. Yawn! 2019 sounds like the same as 2018. Since there hasn’t been any sightings of a new, front engined ‘Vette running around testing in camp, but an obviously mid engined one, I guess a mid engined ‘Vette for 2020.
Maybe a mid year intro of a special mid engined “Zora”.
