We're in the middle of the "spaghetti strands" path projections here in PA. We could use the rain.

Coastal Alabama here. We're gonna get an almost direct hit. When it jumped to a cat 2 I decided to put the shutters on, which was the first time they had been used. Would have gone much smoother if the anchors would have lined up with the holes in the shutters.

Watching the Bama game now.

Got rain most of the day from one of the outer strands. Nobody's complaining, that water was pretty welcomed.

10:15, slightly breezy. Still have all utilities, damn glad I don't have satellite. Pretty sure I wasted a lot of energy today.

good luck for those in the path. When Irma came through here, we were out of power for a week and a half. Yard was flooded (I live on lake), tree down.

I spend the storm in Mississippi though.

Lots of rain and wind but pretty minor compared to others I've been through. Was surprised that I didn't lose power. I'm about 120 miles east of Biloxi where it made landfall.

Just walked the half mile between my house and the highway and there's one small tree down blocking about half the road. I'll see if my neighbor will bring his tractor so we can pull it off the road.

Total extent of damage; back yard gate blew open, rose bushes lost some foliage. Now I get to take these God forsaken shutters off

Neighbor's 138' dock came completely apart. Pilings and about 1,000 2X6's and 2X8's were used by the storm as a battering ram on my seawall for about 5 hours before they finally got piled up in my yard and my neighbor's.

If they had come up to the house, I would have lost everything. As it is I will have to wait until the storm is over to inspect the seawall for damage.

I also lost my steps which go down from the top of the seawall to the water's edge.

Master BR patio door's bottom locking pin failed and the door blew inward about 2". Lots of rainwater puddled up inside. Soaked my Kodiak Bear rug but that should dry out. Had to get up around 3 am and cobble together some items to jam the bottom of the double doors shut against my bedframe.

All night long I felt the storm's 45mph winds pushing on my bed as I was in it.

So, I quite literally rode the storm out.

Other than that, and a few minor limbs down, and the creek that runs across the front of my property flooding about 20' across when it's normally about 4', I came out ok. There is a long squall line that will be passing lots of wind and rain over my location for about the next 8 hours or so.

Do you still have the travel trailer parked outside? Hope your seawall is okay. Those aren't cheap to fix.

And of course about ⅓ of the anchors pulled out of the brick. Add that to the stupid bastards not putting them in the right place and I'm over those bastards.

Looks like the pilings took the most of the battering. Won't know for sure until I can inspect it tomorrow.

Fifth wheel is fine where I parked it. No roof leaks, which is good. I'll get up there with a ladder and make sure no large limbs fell on the roof when it's dry.

Pics or nothing really happened...

In all seriousness, good to hear you came out relatively unscathed. :seasix:

Love that your dog thinks it's a game of fetch.

Was it an older pier or just poorly built? Looks like others are not too damaged.

I'm actually in Central Mississippi, but all that has happened here so far is a half-inch of rainfall last night. Today no wind nor rain.
