Duck watching in Bozeman, MT...

Each year a mother duck lays her eggs in the Bozeman High School courtyard. When the eggs hatch, she knocks on the door with her bill until the door is opened and she leads her ducklings to the Mandeville Creek in front of the school.

Two years in a row, about 10 years ago, we had similar happen at work where momma duck nested in a small internal courtyard, the only problem was they had no desire to leave even after they could fly. We had to capture them and carry them out - after two years of doing that we covered the courtyard with a net and momma duck moved on and nested elsewhere
