A friend of mine years ago got a job at a print shop and after working there a few days he had a few ideas for the owner to improve things and increase profits. Things he had seen at other shops. After a short discussion with the owner the owner told him thanks, but I own three million dollar houses in Palo Alto and I drove a Ferrari to work today. I think I know what I am doing.

I had a similar experience when a print shop owner told me when your name is on the front of the building you can do it your way, but right now my name is on the front of the building.:lol:

Get Small Business Loan
Start up competing print shop
Run it better and give customers better service at a lower price
Put know-it-all's shot out of business

My formula was more like:

1. Work hard and become highly skilled technician who can demand a higher than average price for his services.

2. Go to work for successful high end business and make a good living retiring in my 50s.

3. All the wile watching struggling shop owners who don't know what they are doing lose a mid-six-figure sum and work their ass off while failing and going out of business.

I never got rich, but I got comfortable while others got poor.:yesnod:
