I have no proof, just some things I've seen reported on the various networks and a general knowledge of the area, but I think the al-Qaeda boys are laughing their asses off about the US involvement in Libya. :yesnod:
agree.
no mention that the 'rebels' are or will be our friends, so we are likely replacing one regime with another that wants to kill us...brilliant.... :slap:

Yep, I agree the Muslim Brotherhood is going to take over all of North Africa and start their Caliphate. The whole place is going to be run under Islamic law.
I think the best thing the rest of the world could do would be to carpet bomb them with anthrax or dump all the radioactive waste mined out of Japan and just wipe them all out. The religous whackos are going to end up running the world from Southern Europe to the Philipines. :leaving:

I don't. I think intelligence got a hold of key figures on the rebel side. They came up with this plan of no-fly zone as an excuse to armor the rebels. But they wont say if they will armor the rebels with ammunition. Just a week ago they were crying for ammo and help. Reports were saying they were no match for pro-Kadafi army and even called it embarrasing. Now they are taking over cities left and right and moving to Libya's key city which is Benghazi. With no "help" and unexperienced troops that are clearly outnumbered 5 to 1.

That whole area has to be leveled, it does absolutely nothing good for the rest of the planet, with the exception of our oil allies.

Where do I start with this blather?
First, you don't armor people, you arm them. Armor is something you wear or drive.
Second, there are no "key figures" on the rebel side, it's an armed mob.
Third, every time the rebels have come up against the Libyan army they have lost. The only reason they advanced in the last couple days is because coalition air power hit the Libyan forces hard and they pulled back. This allowed the rebels to advance unchallenged. This morning they are reporting the rebels ran into resistance outside Sirte and again had to pull back. They are calling for more airstrikes.
I don't know where you get your news but I would seek out a new source if I were you.

all these countries have peace treaties with Isreal. That's what the US is afraid of. Will new government honor the peace treaty? You can say that Isreal is in a bad neighborhood. Sort of like people from the projects have decided to leave the only white family alone after years of threats. But the white family have tons of cousins from the burbs that will come and help them if needed. Thats when shit will hit the fan.

The US probably learned a hard lesson in Afghanistan. know who you are backing.
we aren't creating a regime change out of nothing... we are simply "evening" the sides on a civil war... not too different than what France did for some poor shmuck farmers around the late 1700's.

Has nothing to do with where I get my news source. I do admit I can only believe what they are telling me since I cannot personally confirm anything. But I do take into account what makes sense. And what doesn't make sense to me is a few weeks ago they were getting their ass kicked left and right and now all of a sudden they are taking over cities and moving to Bengazi where Kadafi has a strong hold. They are getting help with ammo and artillery for sure. From who, who knows. But someone is supplying them.

You obviously know absolutely nothing about what is happening in Libya. Benghazi has been the rebel stronghold since the beginning of the conflict. Kadafi has no troops there and hasn't since the beginning.
The reason the rebels have been able to advance is because coalition airstrikes were used to hit the Libyan forces and they pulled back. The rebel advances were made without resistance. The Libyan Army had left. Every time the rebels come up against them they stall and retreat as they have now outside Sirte.
I do take back my remark about you needing a new news source. You apparently need to get a news source.

So let me get this straight. You are obviously better informed than me because the "news source" you watch and believe? The whole world are salespeople my friend. Who the hell knows what's true unless you personally see it. What makes sense to me is that the rebels are getting more help than what's being told. Go ahead argue with me if you want about what your news source is telling you. That's what I think is happening.

What news source told you that Benghazi is a Kadafi stronghold? What news source told you the rebels are advancing on Benghazi?
Do you watch or read ANY news sources? Or do you just make stuff up as you go along?
With all that, you completely missed the whole point of the thread. The rebels are al-Qaeda, in large part, I believe and the US is helping them to take Libya. In the simplest terms I can possibly put it so there is at least a slim chance you might understand, THE US IS HELPING al-Qaeda in Libya.
That is why I said they are laughing at us.
You know, I forgot to ask ......... do you even know what al-Qaeda is?

Boy you got taken to Church. That may be true and may not. My whole point was quit trying to argue what's right or wrong when your source is 3rd party like everyone elses. Just give your opinion man and relax. Like I said who knows what's true and what isn't unless you personally see it.

I'm not too effin' worried about what al-Qaeda is or isn't doing.
They can't come out of their caves long enough to comb the maggots out of their beards w/o a predator drone flyin' up their ass.
