Two weeks ago, a Delaware State Police (DSP) Trooper was gunned down and killed at a local convenience store doing his job, it was a particularly brutal act to which the culprit was caught and now taking a dirt nap. And even though the press has not pursued this, some ali akbar shit could be heard when a sniper took him out.
Yesterday I received a late notice that a benefit gathering would take place today to accept donations for the Trooper's family. The DSP was having a "Back The Blue" event at the Lewes/Cape May Ferry Terminal. That entailed if you responded with a donation, the DSP would affix a blue tape across the back window of your vehicle in appreciation of your generosity.
Because of the late notice and foul weather, I expected a few cars to respond. To my surprise, 15 Corvettes showed at the meeting place. We processioned into the parking lot there, and you wouldn't believe how excited the troopers got when we rolled in en masse. Everyone there was upbeat, and so were we.
Can not tell you how much I appreciated their effort and generosity, just a great bunch of people.
And all that responded brought the Vettes.........and not one of them melted in the rain.:D
