[QUOTE=DAB;1558735]Yup. Just started shipping mid April.

Series 70 internals.

My biggest gripe about these is the roll marks are nearly identical to "original" series 70 guns. The best way to tell at a glance is to look at the serial numbers; but unless you know that the number "70" shows prominently in the original serials a novice buyer might mistake a current production series 70 for an original.

Otherwise I applaud the factory with having the smarts to reverse a problem they designed in with the series 80 guns. I hope you love yours Douglas!

Shot it at the match Saturday. Only cleaned and lubed it. Shot it dead cold. Ran great, even won a stage. Woot.

finally got a chance to check the zero today. set up a 25 yard slow fire pistol target at 25 yards, shot off of a bench (to take my errors out of the equation). 5 shots, check shots, paste holes, adjust sights, repeat. did that about 6 times, last string of 5 i put 4 of 5 shots in the 10 ring, 1 shot got dropped into the 6 ring. that'll work. so now i know the gun shoots where the sights are pointed and it's very accurate. now any misses are my fault. shooting factory PMC 230grain ball ammo.

match tomorrow, we'll see how i do. outside chance of moving up to Expert. :ohnoes:

Love 1911's. My EDC is the Ruger SR1911cmd. About to get myself one of the new 9mm versions. You know. Because it's a 9mm.

1911s are fun to shoot, and Colt also offers this pistol in 9mm.

I daily carry a Beretta Px4 in 9mm
