University of Georgia says DEET is a good repellent for Buffalo GNATS or Black flies.

But as for the Buffalo themselves you need a bunch of your fellow Cowgirls on horses to come over to help round them up.... :seasix:

Or call the neighbor to come get his overgrown pets or your eating them for BBQ! :D

Do you know the guy personally, or any of his relatives? Might be time for a welfare check, if he lives by himself. Just saying.

I don't know anything about him but he and his wife keep the outside of their house nicely. Also, the buffalo are very docile. The wife hand-feeds them carrots. I feel confident that they are fine, just a little overwhelmed with how to get them home.

Nice of you to be concerned. :yesnod:

Those Buffalo chips are some pretty stout speed bumps though...
They make great targets for shooting at too. The Chips that is.

Unfortunately, I've had a lot of first hand experience. We found the next door neighbor twice on the floor, the first time after we had a cop break down the door because the neighbor rekeyed his locks and didn't give us the new key.

My late Grandmother lived independently in another state, and her neighbors found her on the floor, twice. Their clue was the newspaper wasn't picked up in the morning, so they knocked, got no answer, so they went in and found her. They saved her life twice, just by being observant.

I've been meaning to get a phone list for our block, with emergency contacts for everyone together. We talked about it at our last block party, but never got around to it.

They're bigger than most folks realize. Where we got our first Swissie also raises American Bison. "Buddy" is two years old in this picture.

Looks like Buddy was waiting for a good nose rub or some food. Do they tend to be friendly like horses or more like grazing cows and only follow you if you have food?

My wife would have been GAGA over that.
The bird feeders, the new rabbit nest outside, (8 baby bunnys), and the Koi pond alone gets her all warm & fuzzy.
That would have put her over the edge. She loves that stuff.

Although Buddy was friendly, we were told to stay in the wagon. Buddy knocked the side mirror clear off. ( on that year Blazer, the are bolted on )

Some of the females had calves and the bulls had real bad attitudes. Just like regular bulls only the Bison were bigger.
