Ok, first off, who's in? Game starts at 7:00 EST.

As for the poll, I've noticed that some people (you know who you are) like to "buy" the pots. I don't think it is quite fair that a person with over 20k will raise $1000 on a good hand or a bluff against a person with, say, 2k. It makes it awful tough on that person with 2k even if they have a good hand.

So, I am suggesting that we put a stake or "buy in" on the game. Say, something like 2, 3, or 4k. Everyone starts out even.

That way, the people that like to "buy" pots will think a little harder about raising $1000 as they won't have that 20k to back them up.

There still would be no limit so you can still raise $1000 if you wanted too.

Isn't this the way the real Texas Hold 'em games are played?

Exactly! Now we just need to come up with an agreed upon amount for everyone to start with. Hopefully, people will vote in the poll to get us a starting point.

from watching the WSOP on espn over time, a consistent observation of the players interviewed is that the likelihood of winning is directly proportional to the size of your bank relative to other players. you can afford to lose more, and bluff more often without going broke. skill and cards take a backseat. just percentages come into play.

another option is to play some type of limit game, so you can't buy pots with a large bank in hand.

I agree with the starting point but I can say I never bluffed a pot. Not my style, plus whats the point?
