Since my 12 yo son has my musical taste, he wanted to see them, so off we go here in a few. I haven't seen them since the 80's, but am hearing they are good as ever. Will report back later!!!!:seasix:

I've seen them several times, including a last minute decision to see them perform on Y2K. People were so scared of a computer meltdown, the show that would have normally been a sellout wasn't sold out at all. Bought nice lower prom seats from a scalper at well below face value the day of show.
Saw them in Nashville, in 2003, during the Corvette's 50th Anniversary bash. They put on a great show then.

I've seen them more times than any other band. Maybe 30-35 times since the early 70s. Always a good show. :seasix:

Very cool, James. More cool, your son has good taste in music. :seasix:

Here is the after show report. That little ol' band from Texas was ON FIRE!! I hadn't seen them since the 80's, and they haven't missed a beat. Billy and Dusty were both great on the vocals, Frank was tearing up the skins, and Billy's guitar work was just damn amazing. My son had a great time, and for his first concert, I'm not sure anyone could have topped them. No pun intended!:D Good times!:seasix:

Apparently, Billy Gibbons likes the food here in town too. Never had lunch there, but their brefffust burritos are off the chain.:seasix:

Friend of mine has jammed with them a few times in the 80s and was really impressed to see they were really down to earth guys that just like cute chicks and playing guitar.

I figured Billy had a friend here in town since well, The Taco Shed ain't exactly on the beat and path. It caters mostly to the base and is right out the south end of the wire. There was a band called "Doc Holliday" here years ago, and I guess the guy that played guitar for them is the friend. During the show, someone passed up a "Tres Hombres" album inbetween songs with a sharpie, and Billy picked it up, and they all signed it right then. You are right, they are good dudes. I've loved their music since I was a kid. My cousin bought me "Deguello" when I was 13. Still have it, and not a scratch on it.:seasix:

That's about what they looked like the first time I saw them.:yesnod:
Just saw them tonight at the Houston Rodeo. NRG Stadium has crappy accoustics, but the little old band from Texas gave as good as they could, considering, including a Johnny Cash cover.
Truthfully, I wouldn't have gone, but I got asked to be the designated driver, so what the heck.....

They're certainly not as nimble as ever, but they can still rock it out pretty well.

Funny to look at that pic & think about the song "Sharp Dressed Man". :funnier:
Saw them twice when I lived in Houston at the old Summit. Killer shows. :yesnod:

I thin it's ironic that the only member of the band without a beard...is Frank Beard.
