I had an opportunity to own a LS7 bottom end. Originally bought through Chev. racing. I started a 14 month build that included new D-port aluminum heads. I'll keep this brief,.060 over bore, internal balance with heavy metal welded into the crank, ported and CC'd the heads, L88 15 lb fly wheel, L-88 intake, nascar rated fuel delivery, M22 trans, etc, etc. I put this in my 1974, original 454 Corvette, (3rd engine over 10 years:D). The lis. plate I had DMV issue was FSTRNU. It was! :seasix:
In the very poor quality photos, the engine with a couple of old roller rockers, (I installed Norris SST), and the 2 guys, one a retired Funny Car mech.,and the other a very close friend.
The car spun the 10''tires thru 3 rd gear at about 100 mph. :seasix:
Maybe someone here can help with the pictures?
All the best!

Back in 81, shortly after getting out of Boot Camp, I had a friend with a LS6 Chevelle. He was getting married and wanted to sell it for $4,000. It was all original with 40,000 miles on it. I asked my dad to co sign a loan for me and he refused, said I would kill myself with the car and my step mother would go ballistic if she found out he signed a loan.
Fast forward 4 years, I was home on leave and just happened to have a copy of Hemmings Motor news. There was a SS similar to the one I wanted to buy going for $25,000. Dad about shit a clinker.
Wish to this day I could have pulled off getting that car, it would still be in the garage.
