Just had some ribeye's. A few decades ago I could've handled that. Too much for the old bear now.

I thought it was ME, getting older, but in fact it was NOT, the beef we buy in Florida stores is just crap.....totally tasteless and full of gristle......fat/grease running through it.....no matter how cooked......my guess is that all the good beef is sent up north, and we stuck with the crap.....

NOW, I go to even a chain restaurant....even a Red Lobster....and the beef is fine, just like up north.....

Primarily for health reasons, I've all but eliminated animal products from my diet. Life is much more boring now.

When you move to the United States, you're expected to assimilate, learn the language, adopt the cultures. Unless of course, you're a muslim. :toetap:

You're right. Actually the beef on the east coast in general (with the exceptions of the higher-end butcher shops and restaurants) is crap compared to what's available in the central part of the country. The west coast isn't much better really. I'm so used to being able to just go to the grocery store and getting decent beef around here, makes it kinda sucky when I'm elsewhere. But I make do by eating a bunch of seafood on the coasts, so it evens out I guess.

As my brother said back when he lived in Rhode Island for awhile "Dude, they butcher dairy cows here sell their meat. It's horrible!"

:iagree: It's hard to find premium midwest beef here and when you do, it's hella expensive.

There are. We have the best tornadoes, believe me. And it can be insanely hot and humid or hot and dry or cold and wet or cold and dry. And it can do all those things within a three day period.

You left out the spook light :kimblair:

Which I've personally seen seven times, but not since about 1979 or so. One time it even came inside my car and floated just inches away from my scared as shit face before going out the side window. It passed through my car's windshield like it wasn't there. The other three people in the car were screaming and generally freaking out.

You sir and I are quite different in our opinions. To me it is exceedingly close to being burned past usefulness. I believe the word sanglant describes what I want. . . basically steak tartar that has been cooked on a grill for less than one minute a side.

Many generations of my ancestors before me were meat cutters ( butchers ). The best way to ruin good meat is to overcook it.

I always laugh at people that order a steak well done, then want steak sauce because they had the flavor & juiciness cooked out. :funnier:
