Good Lord, I pray for that family. With Carrie just dying, I guess mom couldn't take it and stroked out. What a bummer. :sadangel:

Imagine the brother....losing a sister and mother in two days
Happened to a cousin of my ex-wife. The daughter passed, and two days later while planning the funeral with her son the mother suffered a heart attack and died at the funeral home.:sadangel:
One of my sister-in-laws mom and dad passed the same day about six hours apart. Her mom passed in the hospital during the night. They tried to call her dad the next morning who was also ill and he didn't answer. They went to the house and found him. Neither knew about the other. At the time my sil was twenty three.

Very sad situation and what a weird deal this all is.
I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like growing up in that family. Absolutely nothing about it would be considered 'normal.' Sure the money aspect would make life easier but beyond that? You can keep all the rest of it.

Debbie was indeed very rich, but her husbands did their damndest to take away her money. Debbie Reynolds was married three times. In addition to the hotel bankruptcy (She owned The Clarion in Las Vegas, which filed for bankruptcy in 1997), Reynolds had other money problems throughout her life. One of her husbands gambled away her money.
In addition to Eddie Fisher, who famously left her for Elizabeth Taylor, Reynolds was married to Harry Karl, described as the president of the “largest independently owned retail shoe store chains in the country.” They lived in a lavish home called “The Embassy."
The New York Post said, though, that Karl “squandered” $100 million of Reynolds’ money. Reynolds’ third and final marriage to Richard Hamlett ended just as unhappily. The New York Post said he also played games with her money: “He had retooled their finances in nefarious ways. He had backdated deeds to their shared properties transferring the estate to his girlfriend and his brother so that they wouldn’t be included in his holdings when it came to determining divorce settlements.”
May she RIP.
