National Geographic’s first-ever trans cover | Fusion (http://fusion.net/story/376311/avery-jackson-national-geographic-trans-cover/)

As part of its January 2017 issue exploring our evolving understandings and definitions of gender, National Geographic is featuring nine-year-old transgender rights activist Avery Jackson on its cover—the first time a trans person has made the cover of the magazine.

I'll give NatGeo a pass on this one if they address the issue honestly. (which they probably won't)

41 percent of trans or gender non-conforming people surveyed have attempted suicide

That means they have some serious issues. But the leftest PC mentality thinks that giving them a big ol' hug of acceptance is all that is needed to solve the problem. And you are a damned bigoted, racist, homophobe for even thinking anything different and not kissing their ass on command. The Left has so vehemently politicized the issue that honest discussion is impossible to have. So what is going to happen is that these people will probably never get the mental help that they need.
What everyone seems to dismiss is that they got a shitty deal out of life's deck. There is no answer, and no 'cure'; they are what they are. Sure, they need acceptance from society, but they also need to accept society as well. Is the crappy hand they got dealt their fault? Of course not, but neither is the poor bastard that was born with any sort of birth defect to blame for his condition. It's not fair, but he has to deal with it. And as a society, we give him acceptance and accommodate him as far what is reasonable. What the transgenders need to realize is that the reality of who they are is not going to change either, and that trying to force society to bend over backwards for them is not going to give them a normal life either. Is that fair? No, but that's how the chips fell. It's society's obligation to be understanding, but not society's obligation to kiss their ass. It's not like they are getting tossed off rooftops.

As far as the nine year old kid in the article, I don't know if he really knows what he wants at that age. Could be a whole lot of political agenda of the parents going on there. Could be legit too, who knows.

When your social status is determined by how virtuous you can make yourself appear, the normal parameters of reasonable thought stop being important.

everyone is now a victim of someone else. and we all love to help victims. so get in line, pick a cause to be a victim of, and wait for your goodies.

oh, what's that?

you are a happily married white guy who just wants to go to work and provide for your family? sorry, you need not apply. you have created all these poor victims. pay up!

so much for the days of critters and places and new peoples.
