Sadly, I think that was pretty much a given when Frey passed away.

Henley or not, Walsh was the real talent there.

For f*ck's sake, shut the f*ck up and go away. We get it, you're a gang of assholes that can't stand each other any longer than it takes to play a show or record an album.

At at least Fleetwood Mac had vaginas involved. Bunch of f*ckin' swordfighters.

I liked the Eagles a lot more BEFORE they started talking. Interviews always brought out the douche-assery in them.

I thought Roger Waters and David Gilmour were a pair of bitches... and then The Eagles started flapping their face labia... these are guys that give Axl Rose pause.

No doubt Walsh brought the talent to that table (and a LOT of others) but I think Felder had his moments too. Not as talented but layed out some great riffs.

That band would have never been what it was/is without Felder. He made them edgy, and turned them from basically a Country Rock band to straight up Rock and Roll.

Not only that, but Frey and Henley treated him like total SHIT.

Felder (aka Fingers) RULES. :yesnod:

Absolutely. I saw a long ass show about them a few years ago. I think it was something like three hours long. The biggest thing I learned was Henley and Frey were huge assholes. Yet, I sure enjoy Eagles music.

I'm glad I got to see them on the Hell Freezes Over tour. Yeah, Henley and Frey were assholes to other members, but they make great music.

I once watched a show about the Eagles on a cable channel, ~3:00 am.

Frey absolutely hated Felder. Henley was not far behind.

Spent $$$ to attend an Eagles concert several years ago. During the performance, Henley got in his leftist political statements. Not what I paid to hear.

I've got a mug shot (somewhere) of Frey when he was busted for illegal drugs when the Eagles played in Columbus . . . many, many years ago.

All said, great music!

I never got to see the Eagles. Hell, after they got back together, the ticket prices were in the stupid expensive range. They certainly made an indelible mark on the music industry, and Glen Frey's loss was significant. I have always loved their music, but maybe I will get lucky sometime and get to see Joe Walsh live.:seasix:

Me either and I'm perfectly OK with that. Besides, I despise Country music.

Henley is all about money.

Soon there will be a Henley album, made up of unreleased collaborations with Frey and guest appearances by other Eagles members.

Yeah, but that isn't uncommon. Entertainers and athletes are notoriously liberal. I'm sure no one paid to see Kaepernick refuse to hoist his ass off the bench during the playing of the National Anthem either. Or some of the other athletes raise a fist in the air. Springsteen does the same thing.

I'm pretty sure when Frey got busted, he ran right to one of those conservative Republican lawyers to get him off the hook too.

Did The Eagles have any other songs besides "Hotel California" or were their concerts just a 90-min loop of that song?

Saw them after Walsh joined and the edge he added helped. Still...

I recognize their enormous talent. And in order to do that, you have to be able to separate that from their opinions. They are one of my all-time favorite groups (although I do like their earlier years better).

I've been to see them twice and never heard any political statements at either concert. That said, I'm sure they were aware that here in Texas, any kind of left-leaning political statement would probably not get the desired response. They definitely knew how to pick and choose where they brought out the bully pulpit.

When Henley reminiscences about the Eagles... he either doesn't mention Felder - or briefly mentions him in a "troubling" way.

It was Felder that directed the band more towards rock... and less country sounding.

Henley was talented, but mostly followed Freys lead. Felder was as talented as Frey, Henley didn't like that.

I couldn't name a single other song besides "Hotel California." They're too big to have missed all their other music so I went to YouTube. There are a couple other songs I like, I just didn't know it was The Eagles.

I'll see if I can find out. Will have to dig deeeep into court records to see as I think he was arrested in the 80's.

found the mug shot on the web.

Dude, that's nothing. Go to a U2 concert. My best friend dragged me to one. He still owes me for that.

Henley and I actually ran into each other a few times. He wrote a song called "Sunset Grill" which was about a real place...a small hamburger stand on Sunset Blvd. Back in the early 80's when I was working in the entertainment biz, I used to eat there fairly regularly. He was doing some recording at one of the local studios and we ran into each other eating at the counter on a few occasions. I can't say I "knew" him, but we were both there enough to acknowledge one another and strike up some small talk. He was always nice enough, if a little quiet. He never talked about politics. Mostly about the songs he was working on and how he missed Texas.

I never had a problem with him. He seemed like an OK guy, and I'm not going to hate on him because his political views differ from mine. Back then, our views were probably very similar.

I saw U2 back in 1987 at a classic arena called the Caps Centre. Place was like a giant toilet, but the tickets were cheap ($18.50, I think, or maybe $22.50). Anyways, there were not many rants during the show, and it was a good concert.

But back to the Eagles. I suppose in light of canceling any hope of future concerts, it could be said they took it to limit, one last time. :kimblair:
