Was just sitting in my office waiting for my wife to get back here, she works out Tuesday mornings and then picks us up something for lunch. Cat is bugging me to feed him, which is normal around this time of day. From another part of the house I hear the most bizarre noise. Impossible to describe, a sort of bang followed immediately by drawn-out screech followed by what sounded like a dozen little feet scampering across a hard surface, followed by another bang and smaller bangs. The cat went skittering away in fear. I jumped up to investigate.

First thing I notice is a crystal "jewel" about 1" in diameter rolling around on the concrete floor in the dining room. We had just installed a new light fixture over the dining room table, it has a bunch of these crystal jewel things. Somehow one fell off? Did another cat try to attack it or something? I know how secure they are because I put a bunch of them on the fixture myself.

Picked up the jewel, amazingly it wasn't broke. It was the "main" one, the only unique one, that is right in the center of the fixture and was glued to a post. Underneath this fixture, at the exact center, is a 18" ceramic bowl that very shallow, you know, the decorative sort. That jewel fell off (it weighs maybe two ounces) landed in that bowl, somehow didn't break it, rolled around, jumped out, landed on the wood dining room table, rolled across it and then fell and bounced on the concrete floor...

Positive it wasn't a cat. The only one inside the house that could even get up on the dining room table was sitting a foot away from me when the ghost came.

The glue they used apparently never cured, it's still sticky/stringy and I can't tell how the post is attached to the fixture, looks like it unscrews but it doesn't want to. My wife has an identical display light at the place she works at and will trade out this part with the display model once they figure out how it comes apart.
