Unfortunately, the shooter will probably be charged with murder or something stupid.

No effing way. Multiple witnesses heard the cop say shoot.

Holditch said the suspect "refused to get off the officer and the officer kept yelling, 'shoot him, shoot him, shoot him,' and then he shot him. I think approximately three shots were heard."

least they could do is buy him and his wife dinner someplace nice and reimburse for the cost of ammo used. :DAB:

Dead guy's family should pay for the dinner (and the ammo). Shooter did them a favor.

assuming he was using quality hollow point ammo (i carry Hornady Critical Duty, 9mm, 135 gr), it costs about $1/round, so ammo spent is $3, let's round that up to $5, and a nice dinner can be had for about $100.

Love the "What is your reaction?" smiley face poll at the bottom of the article. :funnier:

Didn't look like me, but might have been close to my size.

BTW, this intersection is where my race car sponsor resides. Just to the immediate left of the building in the photo is where the dealership lives.

In the 25 years I've lived in my county there have been four Sheriffs, and they all support concealed carry. On of the primary reasons is that citizens have come to a Deputy's aid with their personal weapons more than once. In a rural county, back-up here can easily be 20 minutes away.

Easy call. Pull over, unholster pistol, yell "stop!", wait for reaction. Bam, bam, bam!!!

I'm still waiting for the national outrage. Why isn't CNN covering this news story? This is actually a pretty big deal, and an obvious boon for the gun lobby.

Oh....right....CLINTON news network.

Thanks for posting that. I was thinking about doing that this afternoon when the comment was made. :seasix:

In 1999 when I attended the Citizen's Academy class the Sheriff told us that there is a little known (and probably seldom if ever enforced) law in California that says if an LEO asks you to assist him in any way, you are required to do so. If so, I think that's a good law if used properly.

Again, where is the reverse outrage? Where is the rioting? :kick:

When a cop yells "shoot him" 3 times repeatedly, you eventually comply. Thank God the civilian complied. AND, I pray to GOD the identity of that civilian is never revealed.

Much updated version of the news story. Apparently the perp intentionally drove in close proximity to officers attending to another highway issue.

Where I live the County Board of Supervisors would give him a commendation and he would be a hero.:yesnod:

At the IDPA match Sunday, we had a fun and simple stage. One target at 7 yards, draw and fire 5 shots to the body and 1 to the head. Same stage was run at the natl championships, winning time was 2.33 seconds, no misses. I did it in 4.42 seconds with no misses. Practice!

Oh....right....CLINTON news network.

Now, now, now. You have to understand that some of those networks are just not as quick as the others. I am sure they will get around to covering it. You have to look at election night...they just did not have the talent or resources to concede that killary lost Florida -- it took them well over an hour longer than other channels and small time/self-funded sites did. :leaving:
