View Full Version : Credit Card was maxed out by scammers

Get a call from the credit card people asking if I authorized $10k worth of stuff, :confused5: I said nope, they said ok we will shut the account replace with a new number and card. Something like $3k three times for electronics and $500 for a dating site. WTH??

Never lost it, have paperless billing and never order on-line.

So now I got to call all the accounts that charge monthly to the CC and let them know the new number.

I hate scammers and fraud artist. :beat:

On my debit card I have automatic text and email alerts if a charge or deposit are larger than the limit I set.

Happened to me before. Card got skimmed at TGIFridays. Dickweeds went to Wally World all over the West Coast of Florida. Spent over $40,000 on electronics.

Had to file police report. Never cost me a dime, just some of my time. Now, I use a different card for recurring charges. I hate having to change those.

I got an email alert as well, they were all over it, seemed nice, just hope the charges do not post.

The only crappy thing is; this is my only credit card.

They got mine. Dude at Fridays was a small fish in the pond. They went all the way up. Azzhat got off easy. :beat:

As does most (mine does), but what if they wiped out the account and my auto draft house payment came up with the other stuff, I would then be hit w/ late fees or lack of funds possibly. I am sure it would get straightened out but the hassle is not worth it.

I hope they catch them, something like HTI Electronics, did not catch the dating Co. as the lady on the phone had a heavy accent.

they all do as long as you report it within 30 days or whatever the limit is.

Thanks, was thinking they might have leaked account info because that is one company on auto charge for me.

but why didnt they call me..I rarely used the stupid card..it had been frozen for a month before I found out what was going on
