in that car - waiting at the traffic light; sometimes there is no escape.

Another reason to slam on the brakes without steering out of control!
I was following a car when he didn't notice a left turn truck, with a big trailer of course, so he quickly veered to the left into on coming traffic.
Lucky my old fart driving habits left me with enough space to stop.
No one hurt but it could have been worse.
Unlike my wife, a school bus driver for 20 years was headed back to the school and the same scenario only this time the other driver didn't stand a chance against her bus.

You know, you can slam on the brakes and steer now, right? ABS makes it possible.
All accidents are preventable. The car driver just didn't try hard enough.

true; but in this case... steering caused a load shift.
All accidents are preventable. The car driver just didn't try hard enough.
I'm assuming the cement truck ran a red light. The car was stopped for the red light. Driver of the car didn't have time to react, is my guess.
Truck driver should be charged with 3 counts of vehicular homicide.

ABS has nothing to do with it!
It's the unplanned uncontrolled steering that gets drivers into trouble...

The asshat on the scooter that ran the light was at fault for that accident. The dump truck driver avoided killing the scooter driver, and in the process, killed 3 other people instead.
The scooter rider's life was saved at the expense of the 3 in the car.
Tragic.

I forgot to include my sarcasm tag.
I've been to too many safety meetings, where the groupthink mantra is, "ALL accidents are preventable." If you enjoy keeping your job, you don't point out the obvious, which is, sometimes, accidents happen that you cannot prevent. That's why they are called accidents.
These are the same folks that insist that every possible bit of PPE (personal protective equipment) be worn by workers when it's 100 degrees and 100 percent humidity, then can't figure out why people are passing out from the heat.

Look at it again.....the bike starts to go through followed by another car so I assume their light was green. Looks to me like the cement truck ran the red. :sadangel:
No way anyone survived in that pancaked car....:(

I've been hit three times in three years commuting in Atlanta, twice while sitting still; obviously not as bad as the video though. I expect a cell phone was being used in each case.

:iagree: The cement truck ran the red light.

I have discovered this to be a losing battle. It is just a matter of time before it will be adopted as acceptable.

According to the little info available :
The incident occurred at 9am on the 14.10.2015. The area of an intersection in the Seosan region.
A cement mixer was travelling towards an intersection and was traveling too fast and was too heavy to stop for for a red light. The mixer carried straight through and in an effort to avoid a scooter rider, swerved and flipped.
It crushed a car and killed the 3 female occupants.

The other vehicles traveling in same direction as the cement truck appear to be stopped. He ran a red light
