GM's dexos oil Part 2

Want to hear something dumb? Local GM dealer does not sell individual containers of oil w/ the dexos approval. They have it in bulk i.e. 55 gallons. This is crazy. :kick:

Will they sell you enough for an oil change or you have to have them do it? ( also---how does that effect the warranty? )

That is a gray area, no they will not sell it, yes they would be more than happy to change the oil, warranty good guess, there is discussion that offering a special type of oil not readily available and making the customer go back to dealer to keep the warranty is in violation of the Magnuson Moss warranty act.
