View Full Version : Ladybugs
WTF?
This morning there about 5 of them in my home office, on the ceiling. Now, there are about 100. WTF?
yup, it's getting cold, so they are looking for a warm place to stay in the winter. we used to get 100s of them on the south facade of our house in MD this time of year.
Around this time of year in NH they started looking for someplace warm to go to.
Beats having the Yellow jackets move in.

I had an invasion last season, so far so good this year. I'm sure they're coming though.
Just vacuumed them up. I'm sure there will be more though.
A few years ago, when I was traveling, I came home to find thousands of them in my office. What's funny is that they seem to gravitate to my office. Sure, there will be some in the rest of the house, but most of them will be in my office.

PM your address. I'll send you some.
We get them up here in Northern NY. Some years are much more noticeable than others.
OBTW that goes for the stink bugs also, it appears both bugs have hi and low cycles. So far this year only saw a few of both, a few years ago you could count them by the dozens on the house. We have already had a hard freeze and the overnight tempts are dropping steadily, only a couple more weeks left of those bugs.

Now you see the problem with open borders. A few are cute. When they start massing and taking over, it starts to take an insidious turn for the worse.

Q:
How do you get rid of ladybugs?
A:
Quick Answer
Get rid of ladybugs by sweeping or vacuuming them up, applying soap or diatomite to infested areas and sealing cracks and entry points into the home. Typically, ladybugs require removal during the spring and fall when they are most active.

That explains your PM, asking me to send you some. :ack: Not that there's anything wrong with that.
