Should be a good series.:yesnod:
I expect it to go five games.

We'll see how it goes tonight. I feel good about the Cubs chances of course but they are only 4-3 against the Giants this year. Really important that they win the first two in Wrigley. Cueto vs Lester tonight, hell of a pitching match up.

That actually was a pretty good game last night despite the low score. For me the play of the game was when the Cubs set up that weird pick-off play. Ross was so excited at making the throw to first for the out that he started to leave the field with only 2 outs.

And of course the game-winning homer (http://m.mlb.com/chc/video/topic/94783854/v1203971583/sfchc-gm1-baezs-homer-breaks-tie-murray-approves/?c_id=chc) by the Cubs excellent shortstop Biaz.

Can't wait for tonight's game. These are definitely two teams capable of beating each other in any given game.:seasix:

Aargh! I can tell nobody is actually reading this thread. Baez is the 2nd baseman. And now the Giants have back to back doubles.

Why is this thread "official", what if I don't want to participate in an official capacity.. and why name a thread a thread, isn't that redundant? :)

I'm watching it on DVR delay right now because I've been at Gonzaga U for the scrimmage. So for spoiler avoidance, I'll have to see y'all later.:kimblair:

Maybe there is an unofficial posting area that you could participate in? :)

That was a blatant misuse of instant replay at 2nd base on that double. It wasn't intended to review calls like that. complete bullshit (and not, I don't have a dog in this fight)

Yeah it was. (About the bad call at 2nd) Man what a great Cubs team. So happy.

Former Red gets the win and former Red gets the save. Former Cub gets the loss.

Giants take out our starter (not on purpose) and our reliever comes in and hits a home run and pitches great. First post-season home run by a Cubs reliever since 1924. Of course we really didn't have a lot of post-season games since 1924, but anyway...
Cubs up 2-0 and get to face Bumgarner in San Fran. Which is why it was so important that they win the first two games in Wrigley. Jake Arrieta is no slouch though.

I went to bed when Chapman gave up 3 in the 8th. Bet you guys where shitting bricks when Bryant hit that 2-run homer in the 9th to tie! LOL
13 innings. Yeah, glad I went to bed.

What a great finish! I will admit that I had resigned myself to the Cubs losing this game when they were looking flat and down three in the 8th. But a 4-run rally in the 9th, tying the game at 5-5 without getting their first out, and then manufacturing the winning run with small-ball, and then Chapman coming in and just shutting them down after his bad outing in game 3...
Now, who do we want? Washington or LA? I'm thinking LA.

Wow, here's an interesting stat. The Giants hadn't lost a playoff game after leading in the 8th since...
1911.
Holy crap. Well, that's the kind of year the Cubs are having.

Another interesting stat was that the Giants had been 10-0 in playoff elimination games in recent years.

Yeah, I didn't want to bring that up at all in this thread since before the first game. :leaving:

Well their overall pitching isn't quite as good and neither is their lineup and Kershaw probably won't go until game 2 at the earliest (maybe even game 3).
I think we're in good shape:)

I was watching the game last night...some douchebag in a Giants cap with a sign rooting for the Nationals that said "SF loves Washington". Idiot looked like a whipped puppy.

I liked Dusty when he played for the Dodgers. He's a good manager...to a point (the point where teams get to the playoffs).
I'm rooting for my Dodgers but I wouldn't be heartbroken if the Cubs went all the way. God knows they deserve it.
Fun fact: It was the "Merkle Incident" that caused the Cubs to win over the NY Giants in a one game playoff and advanced them to the 1908 World Series.

So, I guess we'll need a new official thread for the Cubs/Dodgers...brb
