Clerk bitten and shot at with own gun

COLUMBUS, GA – A clerk at a Columbus gas station was bitten over strawberry daiquiri drinks Friday night.
The clerk at the Liberty gas station on Fort Benning Road told police he saw a man stealing frozen strawberry daiquiris out of the refrigerator inside the store. That's when the clerk grabbed a .38 caliber revolver and chased the man out of the store.
Reports say the suspect, 50-year old Anthony Hudson, charged after the clerk, head butted him in the nose and bit him on the right hand. He took the revolver from the clerk and fired two shots at him.
According to eyewitness police responded immediately and arrested Hudson not too far from the gas station.
Police found a crack pipe with cocain in Hudson's possession.
Hudson was charged with aggravated assault, possession of drug related objects, and shoplifting.
He appeared in recorders court earlier Saturday afternoon.
The clerk did not sustain any life threatening injuries.
