the nail on my pointer finger extends beyond the tip even when it is as short as I can get it, so without a tragic finger tip accident I dont think I will ever be very good at guitar. Actually I play bass but same problem.

If it was a one string, one fret guitar, I could play the shit out of it. Any more than that, and I'll suck pretty bad at playing the guitar.
