Sounds about right to me.

You were a bad cop and a bad girl who really shouldn't have owned a gun.
You will pay for your slaughtering of that man.

They're just doing it to quell any possible BLM crap. Tulsa citizens won't stand by and let their stuff be smashed and looted. There is some pretty compelling video shot by the news chopper that shows the guy reaching into his vehicle with one hand while going for his waistband with the other, after being told repeatedly by three cops with their f'ing weapons drawn to get on the ground. Oh, and PCP. But it does suck to be her.

See?

yaaa, no.
I didn't see a threat at the time he was shot.
No gun, no nothing.

I guess you haven't been following this very closely. I'm 100 miles away. Two officers had their guns drawn, a third (the one in the middle) drew his taser (the other two cops didn't notice this) and pulled the trigger of the taser as the guy was pulling at his waistband. Keep in mind, this guy had already been bouncing all over the place and was told numerous times to stay away from his vehicle. He had his hands up, down, all around, and was acting very erratic because he was high as shit on PCP (which came up on the radio, he was sorta known for this from the prior encounters.)

The officer that shot him said she heard a trigger being pulled just as his hand came back up from the waistband. It was probably the taser next to her. But still, wow, you don't think what that guy was doing - one hand reaching inside the vehicle and one down by the door handle/waistband was shady as shit?

Grab a shotgun, fling the door open for cover, and they find out later after he shot three cops that he just murdered someone. That's why, when the police have their weapons drawn and are telling you GET ON THE GROUND NOW! you do so. It's not that hard.

Also he just got out of prison apparently for drug trafficking and resisting arrest. This guy was familiar with the police.

What if he came out of that window with a sawed-off? Too late then.

I will say that he should have been tazed the second he walked towards his vehicle. But once he's in that window, it's too late.

You've never dealt with anyone on PCP , have you? Super human strength, no pain registers and absolutely no fear of anything.

He was told to do certain things by the police and he chose not to listen.

HE chose poorly in his actions. If he would have listened, there would have been plenty of times to sort things out.

Once the courts clear her, NYC should hire her to train their officers to shoot. 1 round, dead perp in Tulsa; 16 hits, live bomber in NYC.

I never said his choices were wise.
I said the executioners weren't.
Why don't cops just use tranquilizer guns in situations like that?
Hell, they had enough time to lasso the guy for cross sakes.

What if the tranquilizer kills him from a drug interaction? See any cowboys at the ready to lasso him?

Police are to uphold the law. The dead guy ignored their DIRECT ORDERS and paid the price with his life.

Tell you what, next time you head out, you leave your handgun at home and take a rope so you can lasso any bad guys that might harm you.

Let me know how that works out.

True. Like I said, as soon as he turned around, they should have tased him. But that is armchair quarterbacking.
Cops made a dumb mistake, but not a liable one as far as letting him get to the car.
They are not responsible for his actions.
But once he was in that window, there was little choice.

Also, they may have held back on tasing him because of all the PC shit that is going on now. Maybe this will get a
much needed policy change to go ahead and tase idiots that are acting like idiots.

:iagree: Perfect example is the event we are discussing. It "seems" the events as they took place put the LEO's in a situation where they feared for their safety.

As some of the posters here showed, it's easy as hell to question the events that happened from the comfort of their home/office. Plenty of time NOW to review what happened.

Way back in high school in the late '70's, they called it Angel Dust. It took five of us to hold down a fellow who had been "dusted" with PCP. He had gone absolutely bonkers and we were afraid that he was going get himself killed or somebody else. We literally had to hog-tie him up with our belts to get him under control. There was nothing special about him, he was our age and in no better condition that the rest of us, but it was like trying to wrestle a bull. We were close enough to a hospital that we just took him there ourselves. Didn't really know him beyond an acquaintance. Never knew what happened to him after that.
I thought PCP had gone by the wayside, haven't heard much about it since the 80's. I hope it's not making some sort of comeback.

Remembering back to Ferguson, just because somebody is unarmed, that doesn't mean they're not a threat. I haven't seen all of the video in this Tulsa case, but a man amped up on something CAN be a huge threat to another.

You cannot assume they're reaching for cotton candy if you can't see what they're reaching for.

I'm hoping the right verdict will be reached once all evidence is presented in court, whichever way that verdict may lean.

I have good friends and cousins who are cops. I get what they do, and go through. There are good cops and bad cops.
I'm being summarily chastised here in this thread because of my views, which imo is bullshit.
If you want to put cops on a pedestal that's your business. My comment was to bring them down to the opposite end of the spectrum .
A cops function is to protect and serve the taxpayers who pay their salaries and uphold the LAW. Not to be judge jury and executioner or mete out their brand of punishment.
Cops have gotten away with a lot of bad things in the past, but with the advent of the video phone, it just ain't fun to be a cop anymore.
I say tough shit. Do your job, do it right or get off the force and find something that your better suited for.

back in early 90s chicago had a cerfew law and cops would take you in and a parent or who you were living with had to come pick you up. Word got around whwre cops would scoop you up and drop you off in different neighborhoods where your bound to get jumped.

Also a time me and a few friends were hanging in a parking lot of a closed dept store and a uc pulls up. We didnt know they were uc and plain clothes cop came out and puched my buddy got back in and they left. Another time behind a 711 I was with a buddy probably 12 or 13yrs old at the time and my buddy had a raiders hat on. Cop asked him if he was in a gang and why he had a raiders hat on. This is when nwa came out and raiders hat was what one of the rappers wore but rap was looked at as gang affiliated since it was somewhat new. Anyways he grabbed my buddys neck for a few seconds and took his hat and left.

Some of you see is officer friendly coming to your schools and smiling waving saying hi. But you better believe before cameras there were some shady ass cops out there. Some not all not most not half but some before any of you jump to conclusions.

Sorry, but those three stood there and watched like monkeys.
By doing this, the situation ended badly.
What would I do? I'm not a cop, therefore I don't have that sort of training or skill set, so I would have watched the cops handle it.
Like I said before. I don't get paid for that shit, they do.
The woman was clearly terrified in that video. She had no business being there. The other two guys just stood there when they should have been neutralizing the situation while hands were up. Someone on PCP wouldn't even have complied to that order. They had plenty of time to take that scumbag down before he got back to the car.

Around 2 years ago had the ticket for the $00.15 toll for the Lackawanna, NY toll barrier. I got boxed in by semi and went thru an EZ-Pass lane by mistake.

Called the Thruway immediately and was told to wait for the bad boy letter, give a written explanation and asked the fine be excused. They accepted my excuse and I gave them the toll ticket and a check for $00.15.

That's almost exactly my scenario on the AC Expressway, 4th of July weekend. No semi, but a bunch of crazy 4th of July drivers. I simply was all the way to the left and couldn't safely get over. I was told the same thing, did what you did, including attaching the $.75 paid receipt, and they denied my explanation.
That $50.75 will be the last tourist dollars that NJ ever sees from me.

I live probably 15 minutes from the toll plaza that you got nailed at.

He wouldn't "stop" and from the angle the female cop was at, she couldn't see that the window was "closed".

If I was on the jury, I would consider her innocent.
