School apologizes for Trump-themed sign at football game

BIRMINGHAM, AL (KTRK) --
A high school football game is no place for politics.
That is the message parents and students are sending after a Trump themed sign made its way onto the football field during a Friday night game.
Nicole Cabrera, a former Briarwood Christian School student, said she was insulted by the sign.
"I don't like Trump, and Trump doesn't like my people," Cabrera says.
The sign was a play on Trump's slogan, and read, "Make America Great Again. Trump the Tigers."
The school says in a statement that the sign does not represent the school's "deep commitment to biblical principles and values, nor did it reflect our commitment to honoring and respecting our guests."
Parents said they did not like political agendas being expressed at a high school football game meant for enjoyment.
A visitor from the opposing team playing Briarwood said the sign made them feel unwelcomed.
"It was just really shocking, that as soon as I seen it, my eyes lit up," she said. "Because it was like, why at a high school game?"
I can only surmise that Nicole's "people" that Trump doesn't like are people with a poor command of the English language.
