Good to hear you are just planning to work with plastic today.
4x4 and a case of duct tape should work.

Those are 5" square posts, and the wall width is only 1/10th of an inch.
are you trying to decorate your bollards? you want something to hide a 6x6? how about paint?

There are 6x6 sleeves in the list, you'll just have to filter for them.
Sounds like you have a 6x6 post which is actually 5 1/2 in. I don't think
you are going to find a sleeve that is going to fill it out to a square 6". You might find some 1/4 PVC flats that you could fabricate into a sleeve or just glue/fasten to the post but, damn that'd be a lot of work.

Just put in a request Larry.....I'm sure the whole industry will happily accommodate your request to retool their factories for an oddball size to keep you happy and them out of court!

The PVC posts are for the wought iron fence I bought. I need two more posts for the design I want. I went to a metal fabricator, and he wanted $400+ for each post! I can reinforce PVC to make it work.
I'm determined to do this project myself; I'm foregoing welding in favor of bolts. So far I've wire-brushed 16' of 32' and applied rust-killer. That iron is heavy!

Azek makes one in white.
Can it be painted?

Darn near anything can be painted. Might need a scuff first, or some of that chemical bonding primer.

Maybe they already make one in black
They look to be too expensive for the OP though.

I'm after a true 5 1/2" square post (not nominal). I already have some 1/4" PVC strips that I can glue around the top of the post to fit a 5 1/2" cap.
I still don't know exactly what you want. The one pictured will go over a 6x6, which is 5.5 x 5.5 finished. They'll run $125 each or so, plus the wood post.

So you want the outside dimension to be 5.5 x 5.5? Azek makes one that fits over a 4x4.
You can also find post "wraps" that allow some amount of customization.
everyone else in Mississippi uses whatever is normally in stock at homey depot....but not our counselor....no......he needs super special stuff just for him....:slap:
