here's the thing. It's carbureted, with a 4spdl. The crossfire is gone.
it's still the original motor, the crossfire just got flipped over into a carb.
Wife drove it (car's in Indiana) all the electronics. a/c, lights, etc. work.
hmmmm.

I wouldn't do it. Neighbor of mine sold a '93, LT-1 and selective ride control last year for $3500. Better deals are out there.

So is this one of those "should I buy this" thread after you've already made the deal?

An 84 with no electronics problems?
So it's one of those rare one-of-a-kind Corvettes, then.

No Ceasefire Injection, a Doug Nash special, you're ready to go cruisin' the high schools with young Joseph Buck. :driving:

or to and from work with nobody...
I'm still not fully up on how a 4+3 works. It's a 4-speed with an optional overdrive?

Here, let me Google that for you.
September 1984 through 1988 Corvettes offered a Doug Nash designed "4+3" transmission — a 4-speed manual coupled to an automatic overdrive on the top three gears. It was designed to help the Corvette meet U.S. fuel economy standards.

I seem to recall you owning a C3 a few years ago that you absolutely hated because of all the maintenance issues with it.
I predict this will have a similar outcome. :yesnod:

No, the C3 was trashed to begin with.

We got to working on the C3, and actually had everything we needed to get it looking good, bu then we returned all the parts, sold the car, and got a C5, because, at the time, it was my primary driver.
The C4 is going to be a work and back car.
Luckily it had the big "Corvette" across the windshield so you knew what it was before you bought it!

I know... did you catch the little blue stars on the tail lights?
My wife wants to know if it'll be bad karma for me if I remove the "in memory of" stickers on the back window?

It's only bad karma for the person who failed to remove it before it was sold, which in and of itself diss-'d the memory of their beloved.
You should be good.

At least it's a decent color. My friend George had an absolutely perfect '84 that was ugliest color brown I've ever seen.
Hope it runs well for you

Remove the stickers, clean it, then clean it again, and get some decent looking wheels and it's not a bad looking ride.
Have fun!:driving:
