Enjoy it while you can sir...

Granddaughter is my current fount of joy....seems time ripped past me so quickly - its not fair.

I was playing in the swimming pool with a toddler one minute and the next, she is a high school senior at the entrance to the US Naval Academy for a summer "see if you like it" tour....damn:, just damn.

Our Grandson Blaze has been instrumental for me still being alive after our son died....of course my wife and daughter too but he reminds me so much of our son when that age.

Happiness was every day when I was a child. The older I have gotten, the further apart the moments of happiness are. There is far more stress and anguish than happiness.

This is not where I imagined I'd be.

As was posted earlier, music is my escape. I can get lost in it.

Painting, I guess.

When I do my best work, I literally disappear, I do all the planning, then start, then I wake up and there the painting is. I can do OK stuff while still remembering it, but the good stuff comes from somewhere else.

I'm not sure an altered state is happiness, though. Maybe the happiness is in the prep to achieve the rare gem?

Maybe satisfaction is a better word.
