Default Anyone heard of bad Motor mounts on 03+ Ram 2500's

Guy has a 2004 Ram 2500, 5.7 4X4, and he says that the motor miounts both failed and it messed up "the crossmember"....and it needs a new crossmember and motor mounts...but that this was a common problem due to a poor design.

Im not a real big time dodge fan, but Ive enver heard of such a thing...anyone else?

Never heard of such a thing. My dad had a full size RAM that had Auto Trans problems though.

I would never own a Chrysler product, that's just me though...

I've heard of a lot of rear end problems with those, but never motor mounts.

THis should have the AAM 10.5" full floating axel, and 9.25" front Axel, and 545RFE automatic.

not a bad drivetrain, the 5.7 is a little anemic...but...I d unno. Its for sale for 5000obo, and its pretty clean, and its a crew cab.

I'm currently driving my first ever Dodge product.....a 2500 diesel. All the talk of trans/rear end issues hs me a little worried. I actually changed the rear end oil and trans filter/fluid at 50K, something I have never done before. The upside of being nervous is maintenance doesn't get deferred. No motor mount issues, though at 70k. Never heard of that before.

I have read where Rams of that vintage have bad U Joints on the rear drive shaft; causing the motormounts to also fail over time.

the failed motormounts may just be innocent bystanders - that were caught in the crossfire.

don't know of any motor mount issues.

I wouldn't own a Dodge truck. Engine is stout but the rest of the truck will fall apart around it.

Had an '04 2500 CTD 4x4 for 8 years, never heard of motor mount issues.

Only issues I had were front axle u joints and lift pump. Both under warranty.

Sold it to my brother a year ago. He did have a driveshaft u joint go out. 200,000 miles, it's not unexpected.

No transmission issues, rust or electrical problems.

I would have kept it but wanted to downsize since we moved into a condo.

I went and looked at it, its a stripped down work truck...vinyl floor, manual interior, no options, painted bumpers...no way is that thing worth 5000 n9t drivable.
