Well, the deal is done! Closed this afternoon but stayed closed tonight as we won't get our state liquor license until tomorrow. Crappy weather and a Monday night so we're not losing out on much. We'll open for normal hours tomorrow and rock it going forward!

Utah is doing my CC processing for me. Doug's great. He called me this afternoon to see how it was going.

Wow! What a day so far. Got an email from the state that my liquor license was rejected. because of something they instructed us to put down. Called and the girl said let me talk to my supervisor and then came back and said "just reply to the email with the explanation". Did that and got another email that they needed a letter from our village with the explanation. Ran down to village hall and get the letter and emailed it to them. We open for lunch at 11:30 and got the liquor license EXACTLY at 11:30. Man, talk about a heart attack.

Lunch was super busy, much more than normal. With the start to the day it looks like todays numbers will be what a Friday or Saturday night usually are.

Doug is a great guy, just a little tough to track down for some of us.

Frank...I only have one complaint...your food was so good, it ruined my appetite for dinner.

It was nice talking with you and seeing your place. My mistake for thinking that eating at 4:00 would be a good idea before heading to a dinner, but I couldn't resist. The poutine was excellent, bartender was very nice and served up a great martini, all in a beautiful environment. The bar is huge!

Not surprised. Just surprised that I couldn't be a little more disciplined. I took a small part of it home---just what was leftover after I stuffed myself. I was tempted to eat it this morning, lol.

You know how many "good people" (and friends) I caught over the years stealing from my restaurant?.......all of them! Keep them honest. Each bartender should do his own count after every shift. Cameras and a few changing "watchers"....just like the casinos use.

Good luck with your dream venture. It's one of the hardest businesses to run successfully there is. And remember that every place has a half life, after that it becomes old hat, and it's time to SELL before that slide begins, while at the top.
